Every awards season has its breakout campaign: the one everyone talks about, the one that sweeps its category. It earns its moment. A place on the Eventex Index is built differently.
The Eventex Index adds up every awarded entry across several editions of Eventex Awards. One big win can put a name on the board. Climbing it, and staying there, however, takes a body of work. Here's how the points build, and how to build them on purpose.
A running total, not a snapshot
Most awards celebrate a single moment. The Eventex Index measures a track record. Its rankings of agencies, brands, venues, cities, and countries count awards from multiple editions of Eventex Awards, so each year's results build on the last. The current rankings cover the 2024, 2025, and 2026 editions.
Three principles shape how a position grows:
Every award counts.
All award tiers earn points. Even a Bronze on a smaller project still moves you forward.
Recent work counts most.
In the current rankings, an award from the latest edition is worth double one from the two before it. Momentum matters, and a skipped year shows.
Points stack over time.
Three good years can outscore one great one, because each edition adds to what’s already there.
Why the top of the rankings looks the way it does
Look at who leads any ranking built this way, and the pattern is predictable: the highest places belong to names with a deep body of awarded work.
The current rankings bear that out. The leading agency, fischerAppelt, was credited on 114 awarded entries. Qatar Foundation, the top brand, was behind 50. Each of the top five venues earned points in all three editions counted.
A standout project can open the door. A steady flow of strong entries is what keeps it open.
Strategies that build a place on the Eventex Index
1. Put Eventex in the calendar, not up for debate.
Treat your entry as a recurring line in the marketing plan. Deciding from scratch every year is how a strong year gets followed by a silent one, and with the newest edition weighing double, silence costs.
2. Review the whole year’s work, not just the hero campaign.
At the end of each cycle, look at every project for award potential. Projects that never made the headlines can still be strong contenders, and every one that wins adds to your total.
3. Plan categories across editions.
Instead of tuning each entry in isolation, map which projects and categories you’ll target over the next few cycles. A steady pipeline of strong entries does more for your position than one all-in bet.
4. Check you’re credited on every entry.
An award only reaches your ranking if your name is in the right field on the entry form. Work you delivered as a partner, a production company, or a co-agency counts the same as work you led, and one win can place the agency, the brand, the venue and the host city in four different rankings at once. The crediting is the only part of this that costs nothing and still gets missed.
The Eventex Index ranks the agencies, brands, venues, cities, and countries behind award-winning events and experiences, based on results at the Eventex Awards. It also lists the most awarded events of the year. It’s built entirely from awards won, across six rankings.
How are points calculated on the Eventex Index?
Every Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze earns points, and awards from the latest edition carry the most weight. In the current rankings, a Gold won in 2026 scores 100 points, while a Gold from 2024 or 2025 scores 50. Grand Prix is the top tier at 300 points and exists from the 2026 edition onward.
Which editions does the Eventex Index cover?
The Agencies, Brands, Venues, Cities, and Countries rankings count multiple editions of Eventex Awards; the current rankings cover 2024, 2025, and 2026. The Most Awarded Events ranking looks at the latest edition alone.
Can one award get you onto the Eventex Index?
It can. A single awarded entry has been enough for a place in the Eventex Top 100 Agencies. The highest places, though, usually go to companies with dozens of awarded entries.
How many awards do I need to reach the Eventex Index?
Fewer than most people assume to appear, more than most expect to lead. One awarded entry can place an agency in the Top 100. The leader, fischerAppelt, is credited on 114 awarded entries across the three editions counted. Because the newest edition scores double, a steady three years outperforms a single strong one.
How can I improve my position on the Eventex Index?
Enter every edition, review all your projects for award potential, and plan your categories across several cycles. Agencies should also make sure they’re credited in the respective field on every entry they worked on.
Is entering the Eventex Awards worth it for a small agency?
Yes, and the format is built so it can be. Judging is done by 200+ jurors from 40 countries against published criteria, so entries are assessed on the work rather than the name on it. Eventex runs fully online, so there’s no travel or gala cost to absorb. Every award tier scores on the Eventex Index; a Bronze on a modest project still moves a position, and a single awarded entry has been enough for a place in the Top 100 Agencies. The top places go to agencies with dozens of entries, but the list isn’t closed to anyone who enters consistently.
