ÜberUnten – The Exhibition on the Century Project Wiental Kanal

ÜberUnten is an exhibition that accompanies Wiental Kanal II, the largest sewer construction project in Vienna's history. Stargate Group Werbeagentur built it for Wien Kanal in a timber building right next to the construction site.

‍A sewer pipe becomes a walkable narrative: designed as a double-curved tunnel tube, the exhibition building precisely replicates the dimensions of the original tunnel. The wall cladding in authentic tubbing structure reproduces the real tunnel 1:1 – not as a silent stage set, but as an immersive and authentic story visitors physically move through.

Visitors walk a 30-meter route from access shaft to retention basin, with the sewer itself as narrator. Nearly 10,000 people visited in the first year.
