Elaine O’Connor is Co-Founder of the Events Industry Association of Ireland (EIAI), where she represents and advocates for Ireland’s live events sector at national policy level. She has provided expert testimony to Irish Parliamentary Committees on industry reform, workforce development, and rebuilding Ireland’s live music delivery pipeline, and is actively engaged in shaping event safety, governance, and multi-agency readiness frameworks.

With over 20 years’ experience delivering large-scale and high-risk public events, including state visits, major civic occasions, and complex multi-stakeholder programmes, Elaine combines operational expertise with strategic oversight. Her work focuses on event permitting, risk governance, and improving standards across the industry through structured guidance, cross-agency coordination, and professionalisation initiatives.

Elaine holds an MSc in Event Management and is a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) and Certified Festival & Event Executive (CFEE). She also serves as an External Examiner and Advisory Board Member with Atlantic Technological University, contributing to the next generation of event management professionals.
