Sophie Linin

Deputy Head of Events, Royal Museums Greenwich

With over 15 years of experience working across sales, operations and business development for events in iconic venues, Sophie now heads up the commercial hire team at Royal Museums Greenwich, as well as being on the Board of Unique Venues of London.

Sophie is no stranger to the unique and wonderful, having worked in events at sites like the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, SEALIFE London Aquarium, The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, BAFTA 195. At Greenwich for the last seven years, she is responsible for all commercial hire across the National Maritime Museum, Queen's House, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory and the Peter Harrison Planetarium. An expert in venue and event management within historic, challenging spaces, she leads on licensing, planning permission, strategy, business development, product creation and marketing, with a focus on solution finding.

Sophie is regularly invited to speak on industry panels and podcasts, often about sustainability, the challenges of unique spaces and supplier management. She was recently nominated in the category of Best Venue People at the international Prestigious Star Awards. Her role on the Board of UVL, since 2022, allows her to better advocate for unique venues industry wide. Supporting the training of future events professionals is a key passion, working as guest lecturer, private mentor and supporter of Edge Hotel School and the University of Greenwich. Recently she contributed a chapter for The Practical Guide to Managing Human Resources in Hospitality, Hotels and Events which was published by Routledge in December 2025.
