Director of Barcelona Convention Bureau

Who are you really? A German who went to Barcelona for 1 year and has now been living there for 27 years. Enthusiastic about my job, football and an opera lover.Personal credo... You have to enjoy every day of your life and I am definitely doing it.When you were a kid, you wanted to be… a Football Star (there was never a chance to become it).You became… Director of the Barcelona Convention Bureau which is also great. What would people say about you based on your handwriting? – You seem to be a doctor, impossible to understand what you have written.Which book do you think everyone should read? – Wonder, from R.J.Palacio (you will cry a lot)Would you rather be the funniest or the most intelligent person in the room? – A little bit of both but never the most. The hardest thing about being in events... Stress and pressure. Each event is a new challenge. And the easiest? – Meeting wonderful people.Describe how you imagine a conference 100 years from now… Maybe on another planet..The best advice you ever received… Go to Barcelona and make a career.Honest arrogance or hypocritical humility? - Wow what a question. Sometimes both things are necessary.Action or thriller? - Thriller without any doubt.Surprise ending or a happy ending? – Surprise ending. I love surprises and usually they make me happy.Practice without theory is… sometimes much more useful. If you practice you learn a lot.Less is more when… we speak about quality and not quantity. At the end of the day… be happy and enjoy your life.
