How does a venue earn points?

Two ways, and they add together: an award a venue wins directly in the venue categories, and the award-winning events staged there. Neither path is required on its own — a venue can appear on this index purely by hosting the right work, purely through its own recognition, or through a mix of both.

Why are Cities and Countries separate indexes from Venues?

Venues are ranked individually, on their own record. The Cities and Countries indexes look at the bigger picture — every award-winning event, venue, and destination win across an entire city or country — so a location can rank well there even if no single venue in it tops this list.

Why are there ties in the table this year?

Points are awarded in fixed amounts, so it’s common for multiple venues to land on exactly the same total. When that happens, they share a place, and the index lists every venue tied for that spot rather than arbitrarily breaking the tie.

Is this the same as winning an Eventex award?

No. Eventex Awards judges individual entries within a single edition. This index is calculated afterward, converting three editions’ worth of results into a single ranking of sustained performance.

At a glance

For the 2026 index, 584 venues earned points across the three-edition window. Ties push the published table to 101 rows across 100 places.

This year's story: Classic halls, new stages

Conference centers in the lead.
The top four venues are all conference centers, and this is the most common type of venue across the ranking.
Culture and sport take the stage.
Below the leaders, stadiums and arenas are the second most common type of venue, and a dozen museums, theaters, and heritage sites made the list.
The Gulf is a major venue market.
Europe holds half the list, but the Gulf states follow with 20 venues, more than North America and Latin America combined. Abu Dhabi alone has three of the top seven.

How the ranking works

The index weighs two things: the award-winning events staged at a venue, and any recognition the venue itself earned in the venue categories, added up across the 2024, 2025, and 2026 editions.

In the case of ties, venues with equal points share the same place, with the next placement moving up accordingly. All entries tied for placement are included in the index.

Why a listing matters

A place on the Top 100 Venues pays off well beyond the ranking page.

A stronger pitch for future bookings.

When an organizer is choosing between venues, third-party proof that award-winning events have happened there — or that the venue itself has been recognized — is a concrete selling point beyond a site tour or a spec sheet.
An edge in competitive bids.

Major events are often awarded through formal RFPs. A listing gives sales and events teams a credential to cite alongside capacity, catering, and technical specs.
Support for the destination story.

The recognition works alongside city and tourism partners, reinforcing the venue’s place in future bids for conferences, activations, and large-scale events.

This is also backed by visibility Eventex puts behind the index directly — coverage across our channels, inclusion in our press outreach, and a lasting, linkable record of the achievement.
