Maqbool Fida Husain Museum Opening

fischerAppelt opened Qatar Foundation's Lawh Wa Qalam: M. F. Husain Museum in Doha with a night built around the artist himself. An AI-recreated version of Husain's voice guided guests through his legacy, 14 years after his death, while his paintings moved across the museum's architecture.

Projection mapping was not decorative content placed onto walls, it was a structural treatment of the museum. Visuals were aligned to the building’s geometry, inspired by Husain’s sketch, so the façade and interiors behaved like a single, unified artwork that “fits” the architecture rather than playing over it.

Scent cues evoking India and Qatar, lasers and surround sound split the evening into chapters. Guests moved at their own pace from reception to the show, a curated tour and dinner.
