David Hidalgo Ayala

Senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the global Meetings, Events, Exhibitions, Marketing, and Communications industries. He has held senior leadership roles in destination marketing and event attraction, including Director of Event Promotion and Attraction at the Monterrey Convention & Visitors Bureau and National Head for International Event Attraction at the Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM). He later served as CEO of the Yucatán Convention & Visitors Bureau, where he led the destination’s repositioning strategy and oversaw key convention infrastructure development projects.

In 2015, Reed Exhibitions appointed him to launch and lead IBTM for the Americas. For more than eight years, he directed the IBTM brand across the region, consolidating IBTM Americas as the leading MICE trade show in Latin America and one of the most relevant globally.

David has received multiple international recognitions, including being named among the 50 Most Influential People in the Events Industry in LATAM 2025 by EVENTEX, nominee for the PCMA Global Visionary Award – Event Designer of the Year 2024, recipient of the EIC Pacesetter Award as an Emerging Global

Leader, and the Reed Exhibitions Worldwide Board Award as one of the Top 10 Global Executives. He has held leadership roles in major industry associations, including President of PCMA Mexico (2024–2026), Vice President of PCMA Mexico, AMAV Mexico City, and the Latin American Convention Bureaus Association, and member of the LATAM Advisory Group for the global DestinationNEXT Futures Study. Since 2022, he has served annually as a jury member for the EIC Awards.

Currently, he is CEO and Founder of Tree Alliance, an events and exhibitions company behind flagship events such as Convening LATAM, Capital Meetings, Forever Wedding Summit, Metaworld Congress LATAM, Dermaland, and LOMA (Loyalty Marketing Congress). He is also a Latin American consultant, speaker, and industry advisor specializing in the Meetings and Events ecosystem.
