With events and experiences, everyone sees the final result. Almost no one hears what it took to get to the wows and the oohs. The near-misses, the 3 a.m. calls, the decisions that cost more than money — that's what The Eventex Podcast is for.

About the show

Eventex has spent years covering the events and experience marketing industry from the outside — through awards, indexes, and rankings. This podcast is the other side of that: what it feels like to work in this world. No script, no pre-agreed questions — just an honest conversation with some of the industry’s most prominent figures who have been deep inside something significant and are willing to talk about it.

  • The format: 60-90 minute conversations, one guest at a time, no PR polish
  • The territory: scale and execution, power and politics, crisis and chaos, industry truths, and where events are headed next
  • The goal: the conversations that usually only happen at the bar after the conference

Hosting the show is Laura Schwartz of Laura Schwartz Live, veteran keynote speaker and emcee, and a long-term Eventex Awards jury president. Having spent over two decades on stages and behind the scenes of some of the world's biggest gatherings, she brings that same instinct for pulling out the real story to every episode.

Episode 1: Danielle Medeiros on building LinkedIn's biggest moments

The Eventex Podcast is hitting the ground running with Danielle Medeiros, Global Head of Industry Tentpole Experiences at LinkedIn, where she's spent six and a half years turning a B2B platform's presence at the world's highest-stakes gatherings into something people talk about.

In this episode, she gets into:

  • Why she thinks "ROI" is the wrong way to measure a room — her case for "return on experience," and how one 100-person session, recorded and shared after the fact, reached over 80,000 people
  • The night a caterer no-showed a 250-person dinner — and what she did in the two hours before guests arrived
  • Her unfiltered take on AI in events — where it's genuinely useful, where it's overhyped, and why she doesn't think it's replacing creativity anytime soon
